Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead with expertise in Mechanical technologies to join our team in Gurugram. The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in the Intellectual Property (IP) industry, focusing on mechanical engineering domains such as automotive systems, manufacturing technologies, industrial machinery, consumer products, and related mechanical innovations. You will play a key role in leading a team of patent analysts, managing client projects, conducting advanced patent research, and ensuring high-quality patent analysis deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Patent Analysts working on mechanical domain projects.
- Conduct and supervise prior art searches, patentability assessments, invalidation searches, freedom-to-operate (FTO) studies, and landscape analysis in mechanical technologies.
- Review and ensure the quality, accuracy, and completeness of patent search reports and analysis prepared by team members.
- Plan and coordinate project timelines, resource allocation, and deliverables to meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements, provide technical insights, and deliver project updates.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members to enhance research capabilities and domain knowledge.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in mechanical technologies and developments in global IP regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance research efficiency and team productivity.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in the IP industry, preferably in mechanical technology-related patent research projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience in prior art searches, patentability analysis, FTO studies, invalidation searches, and patent landscape analysis.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with experience handling research teams.
- Proficiency in patent databases and tools such as Orbit, PatSeer, Derwent, Google Patents, and Espacenet.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare and review high quality technical reports.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results within tight deadlines.
